December 2011 – The Story of Hospice Posted Online
December 5, 2011 - Denver, CO – Internet broadcasting unit Healthy Aging Today has produced, and posted on-line, a video titled The Story of Hospice. This program was originally produced in collaboration with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in 2004. NHPCO arranged filming at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care to interview a hospice care team and a hospice patient. They also provided interviews with Matt Lauer of the Today Show and former Senator Elizabeth Dole as well as NHPCO president Donald Schumacher. This program has been re-edited and formatted for viewing over the Internet. The video is available to view at www.HealthyAgingToday.com.
November 2011 - Advance Directives Video Posted Online
November 7, 2011 - Denver, CO – Internet broadcasting unit Healthy Aging Today has produced and posted on-line the video titled Advance Directives - Making Your Choices Known. Advance directives ensure that your wishes regarding your finances, day-to-day life, and healthcare are clearly stated in the event that you can no longer speak for yourself. This program defines advance directives, explains why they are necessary, and how to put them in place. The video is available to view at www.HealthyAgingToday.com.
October 2011 – Video Explaining New Medicare OEP Posted Online
October 27, 2011 - Denver, CO – Healthy Aging Today has produced a video about Medicare’s changes to the Open Enrollment Period (OEP). The program features Mike Fierberg, Public Affairs Specialist, Region VIII, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Mr. Fierberg answers frequently asked questions about the OEP and explains the change in dates from November 15th through December 31st, in past years, to October 15th through December 7th, effective this year.
October 2011 - Medicare Basics Video Series Posted Online
October 26, 2011 - Denver, CO – A new video series explaining the basics of the Medicare program is now posted at www.MedicareBasics2012.com. The 7 part series was specifically designed for the Baby Boom Generation who began aging into the Medicare program in January 2011. With over 10,000 Baby Boomers turning 65 every day, the need for clear and accurate information about their Medicare options is critical.
